Red Cross Childcare First Aid - Standard          (Back to Courses)

This course provides comprehensive First Aid & CPR training to individuals wanting more knowledge and skills to respond to emergencies involving infants and children. This course covers a variety of topics from basic first aid to life threatening emergencies.

This course is recognized by Alberta Social Services and is a requirement for childcare’s, play schools, day home providers, after school cares, preschools, Montessori schools and nannies.

  • Check-Call-Care (ABC's)
  • Secondary Survey
  • Allergic Reactions
  • Wounds and Bleeding
  • Poisons
  • Childhood Illnesses
  • CPR Masks & First Aid Kits
  • Child/Youth Protection (Abuse, Neglect, Bullying, Harassment)
  • Childproofing the Environment
  • Medication Administration
  • Environmental Injuries (Frostbite/Hypothermia/Heat Emergencies)
  • Burns, Diabetes, Seizures
  • Bone/Muscle/Joint Injuries
  • Infection and Preparing for Disasters
  • Breathing and Circulation Emergencies
  • Head/Spine Injuries (including Shaken Baby Syndrome)
